How the score is calculated
This tool is fully transparent — it runs entirely in your browser and applies six weighted checks taken from widely used CV-writing guidance:
- Action verb (25 pts) — the first word is matched against a 50+ verb list of recruiter-preferred openers.
- Quantified impact (30 pts) — looks for numbers, %, currency or multipliers (3x).
- Length 12–28 words (15 pts) — based on the readability sweet spot for scanning.
- Active voice (10 pts) — flags was/were + verb-ed patterns.
- No filler (10 pts) — catches really, very, just, successfully, effectively, etc.
- No first-person pronouns (10 pts) — CVs omit I / my / me.
